Giles Bernard Newman '57 passed away in the 80's from pneumonia. He was very active
in the scouts from childhood to adulthood, and loved photography, doing it in his own dark room. Giles
also enjoyed cards and board games. His father's family came from Germany and his mother's family came from
Norway. They lived in the St.Paul Minnesota area before moving to Los Angeles when he was very young. His parents owned
a large house on So. Lake Street. He had an older brother, Mark Newman. (Information provided by Giles' niece Laura of
